As everyone knows fuel prices ( for 89 octane) are at an all time high, But we are trying are hardest to keep prices at a minimum for our Rack customers so you can enjoy your boating season. Right now our fuel price is $4.50, but for Rack customers the price will remain $4.25 for as long as we can hold it. We will remain to try to make your boating season as fun, enjoyable and affordable as possible.

Fishing Report.....................................
By Eric Burnley Sr.*
09/19/08
Stop in the store for a daily report.
INSHORE OCEAN
The east wind and spring tides have not been favorable for fishing out here. The deeper the
water the more effect the wind and current have and out here fishing begins at 60 feet and goes
out to 100.
There have been some nice croaker caught between Site 10 and B Buoy as well as on the Old
Grounds. A better class of sea bass were also reported on the Old Grounds. Keep in mind that
the Old Grounds hold the few remaining coral beds left after what's been described as the
devastating plunder created by the gold rush mentality of commercial clammers. When I was
much younger, captains like Frank Bader on the Fish Hawk could make a day of sea bassing
within sight of land. After the clammers tore up the bottom there was little left inside 12 miles.
Today the clammers are gone and so are the fish. When the seas settle down we should have
good trolling action between B Buoy and the Lightship. Look for false albacore, bluefish, bonito
and perhaps a stray king mackerel. .
OFFSHORE OCEAN
Without a doubt, one of the hottest white marlin bites of the past 20 years developed following
the tropical storm. Boats out of Ocean City released as many as 27 whites in one day. This is the
type of marlin action we had many years ago and I recall a day on the Slow Poke when we
released 12 out of 17 whites. What a shame that the price of fuel will keep many fishermen from
experiencing this exciting action. Along with the marlin the boats are finding plenty of dolphin and
a decent number of wahoo. Tuna have been scarce.
Delaware Bay-
The constant east wind over the past week has made fishing in the lower bay a bit difficult. The
folks who have gone out report the combination of the wind and the full moon current keep the
boat moving too fast for a decent drift.
In the upper bay around Ship John and the Cross Ledge there are reports of some 15 to 20-inch
trout caught on peeler crab. Trout were also caught at Woodland Beach and Port Mahon on the
same bait. No report of bluefish since the tropical storm blew through. The same old story with
flounder, a few caught over hard structure and a very fewer of them still keepers.
At the mouth of the bay the croaker fishing is fair. It would be better if not for the wind and
current. About the only time it is possible to get a bait to the bottom is during slack water.
